Motor State Challenge Galleries

Friday everyone met at Motor State, learned the rules and schedule, then went for a 40-mile cruise. The day was topped off with a picnic cookout at Warren Dunes State Park. |

A full day of road course time trials was on the schedule for Saturday at the GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan. Over 95 cars were on the grounds to compete. |

Nearly 70 cars competed in the Sunday Autocross at Lake Michigan College parking lot. |

Friday's Wine Country Cruise was a 40-50 mile scenic ride through southwestern Michigan which ended at Warren Dunes State Park on Lake Michigan where participants enjoyed a Beach Party/Cookout. |

Saturday, Pro-Tourers gathered at Gingerman Raceway, a well-known road course near South Haven, MI for a chance to turn in some thundering laps. Novice drivers were led through the course by a pace car while experienced drivers were given more leeway. All were required to exercise prudent judgment in the interest of safety. Following a day of road racing fun, everyone was treated to a BBQ dinner. |

Sunday morning, the popular Autocross was conducted on the grounds of Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor, Michigan. During the day, throughout the competition, food was served by the Lane Automotive Relay for Life team for a $5.00 donation. At the conclusion of the Autocross event, awards were presented. |

The show had a great turnout despite the soft ground and overcast sky! It just proves that auto enthusiasts are a hardy sort. Vehicles of every type and size came rumbling into the show, and we hope a good time was had by all. We would like to thank everyone for putting up with the muddy conditions. |

It was a super turnout for the Friday Cruise Night Celebration! Cruisin' vehicles of every sort, live music, the Dyno Challenge, and food vendors were enjoyed by all. There was great camaraderie and even a wedding! |

It was a great race and the stands were packed! Winner Phil Bozell ran a steady race for the first 100 lap segment, gaining 7 positions to 6th place. In the final 50 lap segment, Bozell took the lead from 2008 Klash winner, Terry Senneker, on lap 110 and streaked to the finish line over 7 seconds ahead of Steve Needles, who won the race in 2009. 2006 Klash winner, Johnny Benson, drove the Larry Zent-owned entry to third. |

Veteran driver, Joey Fowler of St. Charles, MI, topped a fine field of 55 Modifieds in round 2 of the Michigan Dirt Cup Allstar Performance Modified Tour held June 11 at Butler (MI) Speedway. Point leader Mark Anderson finished second and Northern Michigan standout, Mark Kurth, ended up third. |

Mark Anderson of Lowell, MI, became the first two-time winner of Hartford (MI) Motor Speedway's annual Modpalooza event on Friday 6-3-11. Mark held off stiff challenges from Frank Marshall and Brian Ruhlman on the way to his big win. Anderson's take for the evening amounted to over $2,000 in cash and $1,000 in product courtesy of Dart Heads and Landrum Springs. Alan Vochaska won the Late Model feature and Ryan Flagel took the Pure Stock main. |
