2009 Lane Automotive Car Show

Cars and Great Fun. The sun kept shining, and the show cars kept rolling in at the 21st Annual Lane Automotive Car Show Saturday May 23rd. Over 1,400 cars, a new record, came out this year to thrill a huge crowd of spectators which was estimated at over 14,000. The ninth annual Nitro Noisefest took place at 12:00 Noon on Saturday with ten dragsters and two gasoline powered drag cars making the call.

The huge Manufacturer Marketplace tent was once again filled with representatives and products from many of the major speed equipment manufacturers stocked in the Lane/Motor State warehouse.

We extend a gigantic "Thank You" to all who brought cars to the show and to all who came out just to see what it was all about.

Hot Rodders Of Tomorrow Engine Challenge

Engine ChallengeNew this year was the Hot Rodders Of Tomorrow Engine Challenge funded by several speed equipment manufacturers including Edelbrock Corporation, MSD, Moroso and Fragola Performance. When the points were tallied, the Number One Team from the Van Buren Tech Center in Lawrence was declared the winner by virtue of disassembling and reassembling a small block Chevy V8 in the shortest time with the least penalty points. Open Header Cruise

Open HeadersLoudest Mobile! Nearly sixty hot rodders uncapped their headers on Friday evening, May 22 to take part in the 3rd Annual Lane Automotive Open Header Cruise. Cars were on hand from Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Missouri and Canada. With the blessing and support of the Watervliet City Council and the Watervliet City Police Department, the police-escorted cruise traveled the three mile route from the North Elementary School to the Lane Automotive parking lot. The winner of the Noise Showdown at the end of the cruise was Darrel Clink who drove all the way from Caro, Michigan to participate in the Open Header Cruise for the second year. Friday Night Cruise-In Celebration

Cruise-In Nearly 350 cars came out on a beautiful, sunny Friday evening to enjoy the excitement of the Annual Lane Automotive Cruise Night celebration. Entertainment was provided by the musical talents of Al Giganti and Friends who played an endless string of rock and roll hits from the sixties to the eighties. View Cruise-In Image Gallery

Lane, B&M And Moroso Dyno Challenge!

Dyno Testing The Lane Automotive Challenge Chassis Dyno was again on hand to pass on real rear wheel horsepower numbers to those who were willing to pay the $30.00 sign-up fee. Proceeds from the dyno went to the Lane Automotive Relay for Life campaign.
