Four-time Hartford (MI) Motor Speedway champion, Alan Vochaska of South Haven, MI, scored his biggest career victory, leading the final seven laps of The Lane 45. Shawn Toczek of Hebron, IN led the initial 11 laps of the event, giving way to track regular, JR Hotovy of Covert, MI. Hotovy piled up over $1300 in lap money, including the Midway Bonus presented by Corliss Signs and Merritt Speedway, before experiencing electrical problems on lap 38. Vochaska took control of the race, leading the final 7 circuits for his first ALMS win, taking home over $4700 in the process. 35 Late Models were on hand to compete in the ALMS and Ontario Dirt Late Models co-sanctioned event.

Terry Senneker remained undefeated in 2009 by capturing the Allstar Performance All-Star Showdown in front of a packed house at Kalamazoo Speedway on Sunday, May 24. Todd Harrington jumped from his second starting spot into the early lead but it didn't take long for Andy Bozell to power by and into the top spot. Allstar Performance Shootout to Highlight Memorial Weekend at the Zoo!!!!!

Memorial Day weekend 2009 will be one to mark on your calendars if you are any type of a race fan. The weekend will be highlighted by the first ever Allstar Performance All-Star Showdown. The best of the best Late Model drivers will have their chance to claim the $5,000 winner's check in a 75 lap sprint race. Drivers will have a chance to make the All-Star Showdown based on their feature finishes and qualifying times from the early part of the season. On Saturday night, all drivers not locked into the race will have a starting spot in the Last Chance race(s) where two lucky drivers will be added to the star studded field. Also that night, there will be two qualifying races for the drivers already locked into Sunday's All-Star event, which will determine their starting positions. Modifieds, Pure Stocks and Cyber Stocks will be racing a full show as well to complete Saturday's schedule. Sunday evening's program will kick off with the first ever Allstar Performance All-Star Showdown at 7pm. The race will be run in three segments and have between 15-18 of the best Outlaw Late Model drivers in the country going after the $5,000 top prize. The first two segments will be 25 laps each with a possible inversion of up to six cars at the conclusion of both segments. The final segment will then be a 25 lap dash for cash; a dash that perhaps may be the most intense 25 laps of racing ever on the high banks of the Zoo. At the conclusion of the All-Star Showdown will be the ever popular Belle Tire Four Cylinder Enduro Series Veterans 200. This will be the second of six Enduros at Kalamazoo; this event will give you all the laughter and excitement you and your family will need for the entire Memorial weekend.

To celebrate our 45th year in business, Lane Automotive, Hartford Motor Speedway, and K&N Filters are teaming up to host a special race to celebrate this anniversary. The Lane 45 Powered By K&N Filters, scheduled for July 31, will showcase some of the Midwest's top Dirt Late Model drivers competing for the $4500 winner's share of a $20,000+ purse. Lap money could boost the winner's share to over $6000. The event will be run under UMP rules and be co-sanctioned by the American Late Model Series (ALMS), the Northern Allstars Late Model Series (NALMS) and the Ontario Dirt Late Model Series (ODLMS). When all the U.S Nationals Top Alcohol Dragster qualifying smoke cleared at O'Reilly Motorsports Park near Indianapolis, Bill Reichert was comfortably nestled in the Number 2 spot, between top qualifier, Aaron Tatum, and Number 3 qualifier, Zach Beard, son of nitro funny car tuner, Lee Beard. The current leader in the Top Alcohol Dragster point standings, Jim Whitely, was in the Number 7 spot. Martin Wins Two In A Row!!
Norwalk (6-29-08) marked the second consecutive win for the Lane Automotive/CAP Dodge Charger R/T TAF/C in two weeks. It was also driver Bobby Martin’s first ever NHRA National Event win.

This visit to the Winner’s Circle is special to Martin, as it represents a milestone, not just a win. After racing Top Alcohol Funny Cars for eighteen years, Martin has his first NHRA national event number one qualifying position and race win. For Frank and Dan Parker, owners and crew chiefs of the Mopar Hemi-powered car, Martin’s achievement was expected. “We’ve known and watched Bobby for years,” said Dan Parker, the team patriarch. “He’s become skilled and track-wise from running his own car, but doing everything himself was a distraction. We just knew that, if we could hook up and take some load off his shoulders, he would really shine on the track.”...

Reichert Wins Second World Championship!

Bill wins again!
Congratulations to Owosso's Bill Reichert who recently won his second NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster World Championship. He did it in typical Reichert style, posting consistent reaction times and outstanding quarter mile performances on his way to winning the championship and the World Finals event "Wally" in Pomona, California. When three rounds of qualifying smoke had cleared, Bill was in the number one spot with a fine 5.22 elapsed time.
